Norton Rose Australia appoints next leader to strengthen regional footprint

Norton Rose Australia today announced the appointment of Wayne Spanner, as its next managing partner effective January 1, 2012.
Spanner, who has been with Norton Rose Australia since 2002, will take the reins from Don Boyd who will remain as Group Deputy Chief Executive, Norton Rose Group.
Spanner, 46 is currently Practice Group Leader in Australia and Global Practice Leader of Norton Rose Group’s Employment and Labour practice. He played a central role in the Australian practice’s integration with Norton Rose Group.

Wayne brings comprehensive experience across a range of industries. He was made partner in 2000, Practice Group Leader in 2008 and Global Practice Leader in 2010.
He holds a Masters degree from Oxford University and has more than 20 years experience as a lawyer covering South Africa, the United Kingdom and Australia.
The appointment was endorsed by the global executive committee and overwhelmingly supported by the Australian partners today.
